The Al Shira'aa Hickstead Derby Meeting

First held in 1961, the Hickstead Derby is one of showjumping's most iconic and enduring challenges. Expect plenty of drama as riders face the legendary obstacles of the Hickstead International Arena.

This equestrian showcase in the heart of West Sussex combines international showjumping, including the exciting the British Speed Derby and the Agria Derby Trial, in which riders must qualify for the Al Shira’aa Derby itself, alongside showing classes, carriage driving and lots more.

The Agria Royal International Horse Show

Five-star showjumping and championship showing at one of the most famous showgrounds in the world. Five days of international showjumping, including highlights such as the Agria Nations Cup of Great Britain, the JCL Insurance Brokers Queen Elizabeth II Cup and the Al Shira'aa King George V Gold Cup.

The Royal International Horse Show is also renowned as the pinnacle of the outdoor showing season with hundreds of showing championships across the six days, with the best of these competing in the Barberstown Castle Supreme Horse and the Supreme Products Supreme Pony Championships on the final Sunday.

Robert Whitaker Lifts The Trophy!

Robert Whitaker and Vermento, the winners of the Al Shira’aa King George V Gold Cup in 2023, reclaimed the trophy on a thrilling final day of action at the Agria Royal International Horse Show.

His victory gave his family a third successive victory in this Grand Prix, with Robert’s cousin Donald having won last year’s class. It also made Robert the fourth rider in history to win Hickstead’s Al Shira’aa Derby and the King George V Gold Cup in the same year. “It’s surreal,” said Robert. “To win both is very, very special.”
